Rules

The present rules apply for The Geneva Fair Exhibition


Article 2 Conditions of admission
2.1 The organiser shall decide upon the admission of the exhibitor in accordance with the program of the event, the number of applications and the availability of exhibition space. The admission is at the sole and unlimited discretion of the organiser and there is no legal claim or acceptance.


2.2 The exhibitor undertakes, vis-à-vis the organiser, to exhibit at the trade show only specific products under its brandname, at the exclusion of all products that may be customarily marketed under a different brand name, even by the exhibitor subsidiaries.


2.3 Application forms shall be sent directly to the organiser prior to the deadline specified on the application.


Article 3 Organisation of the stands
3.1 The surface area of the stands is defined by the organiser based on available surface space.


3.2 The installation and decoration of the stands is the responsibility of the exhibitor  and shall therefore be strictly complied with by the organiser.


3.3 Any damage or wear-and-tear caused by the exhibitor or any of its employees to the premises, stands or materials
shall, following evaluation by the organiser, be charged exclusively to the exhibitor.


3.4 The exhibitor may not remove any product, merchandise or ornament used to decorate its stand prior to closing time.


Article 4 Pricing
Prices are determined by the organiser for each session and are not subject to any reduction or discount.


Article 5 Admission
5.1 Submission of the application form, implies unconditional, unrestricted acceptance of the clauses of the present rules.


5.2 The organiser reserves the right to change the location of the exhibition if the site originally planned on must be changed for any reason.


5.3 When returning the application form, the exhibitor shall submit a deposit which is fixed by the organiser at 50% of the total amount due for participation.


5.4 In the event that the application is rejected by the organiser, the total amount of said deposit shall be returned to the applicant immediately.


5.5 Any reservation made by the exhibitor for a stand whose area exceeds 20 sq.m. shall be payable to the organiser immediately in full.


5.6 In the event that the size of a stand is reduced, the difference between the original and the newly calculated participation fee shall be reimbursed to the exhibitor.


Article 6 Payment methods
6.1 Aside from the deposit paid to the organiser at the time of the application, the balance of the registration fee is due three months prior to the event.


6.2 An exhibitor that fails to pay the full registration fee will be prohibited from using its stands during the event.


6.3 Any invoice not paid three months  prior to the opening of the tradeshow shall be subjected to a 10% surcharge.


Article7 Cancellation
7.1 Any online commitment is final.


7.2    The withdrawing exhibitor will be indebted to the organizers and will be refunded any overpayment already made according to these rules:
 

  • 30% of the total amount due for participation if he gives up his participation less than 60 days before the date of the fair,
     
  • 50% of the total amount due for participation if he gives up his participation less than 45 days before the date of the fair,
     
  • 100% of the total amount due for participation if he gives up his participation less than 30 days before the date of the fair
    The exhibitor will get a refund, if need be, the excess amounts already paid. The deposit of 50% due at registration will be paid back to the exhibitor if the withdrawal takes  place more than 90 days before the first day of the fair.

    7.3 Any exhibition space not occupied by an exhibitor upon the opening of the trade show shall be payable in full, with the understanding that the organiser reserves the right to dispose of it without reimbursement or indemnity.


    Article 8 Liability
    The organiser shall not be held liable for loss of or damage to the exhibited samples and materials, regardless of the cause.


    Article 9 Prohibitions
    9.1 The exhibitor undertakes to refrain from using microphones, recording devices or audio devices, regardless of the form or destination thereof, at
    its stand. Any violation of this provision shall be punishable by the immediate closing of the stand without the exhibitor having a right to any reimbursement of any kind, with the understanding that the organiser reserves the right to bring legal action against any exhibitor in violation of the said rule.


    9.2 The exhibitor is prohibited from distributing, either directly or indirectly, any samples, gadgets or fliers outside the stand area.


    9.3 The exhibitor is also prohibited from promoting its stand using pre-recorded audiotapes or loudspeakers.


    9.4 The exhibitor undertakes to exhibit its collection within its stand, in such a way as to avoid disturbing other exhibitors or disrupting in any way, the overall progress of the trade show.


    9.5 The exhibitor formally undertakes to respect the ownership of each of the other exhibitors’ creations and, therefore, to refrain from making, either directly or indirectly, any copies, sketches or photographs of the products exhibited. Any violation of this provision shall be punishable by the immediate closure of the stand occupied by the exhibitor that is at fault, without the latter having a right at any reimbursement of any kind, and notwithstanding any claim for damages that may be filed at a later date.


    9.6 Photographs may be taken on the grounds of the trade show only by certified professional photographers expressly authorized by the organiser to do so.


    9.7 Entry to the trade show grounds is restricted to persons displaying an admission ticket approved by the organiser, with the understanding that the latter reserves the right to refuse admission to the trade show to any person without needing to give reasons for the same.


    Article 10 Jurisdiction
    The present rules are governed by Swiss  law. Any dispute arising from the enforcement or interpretation of said rules shall, by express agreement, be submitted to the Courts of Geneva.


    Article 11 Force Majeur
    If the organiser is compelled as a result of force majeure or other circumstances beyond its control (e.g. failure of power supply) to vacate the exhibition area, temporarily or for longer periods or to postpone or curtail the trade event, the exhibitors do not thereby acquire the right to withdraw or cancel, nor do they have any other claims against the organiser, in particular claims for damages.


    Article 12 Warranty
    Complaints about any defect in the stands or exhibition area are to be made in writing to the organiser immediately on occupying the exhibition area, so that the organiser can remedy such defects. Later complaints cannot be considered and cannot give rise to claims against the organiser.
